Venues for Rallies & Training

Rallies and training sessions are held at venues that we are lucky to have the use of,  from kind landowners, e.g. Ystrad, Fferm, Clwydfro, etc. When attending these venues please be aware that you are there by invitation and you must respect the premises.

  • Do NOT go to areas or buildings that are not used by the Pony Club.
  • Ensure that the area we use are kept clean and tidy: picking up your pony’s droppings, not tying hay net up outside trailer or lorry, etc.
  • Put away equipment after use, e.g. jumps.
  • Ensure that your pony’s flu vaccinations are up to date. If you have a pony that is coughing, please DO NOT bring it to the venue.
  • The venues used are usually working farms, not playgrounds, all children must be supervised at all times.

Winter League Show Jumping Report – Waen y Llyn

It was a cold, damp day for the Waen Y Llyn Winter League Show Jumping competition, but all the Flint & Denbigh competitors tried their hardest, with some lovely results once again.

In Class 1 two from the team had lovely double clears: Alex Owen in acrobatic style (which was worth watching!) with individual 5th, and Twm Cernyw who was individual 6th. Harri Wheway and Ophelia Orton helped secure team 2nd, thrilled with their Mini Egg Easter Eggs as prizes!! Faye Jones also rode in a mixed team, which gained 3rd. It’s a shame we won’t have a team at the last competition on Saturday, but we wish all our riders the best of luck with their schools at the Urdd competitions.

The Class 2 team of Jac Cernyw, Emily Vaarkamp, Orlagh Toner and Heledd Roberts had a challenging but interesting day finishing in third place overall, again all enjoying their Easter Eggs. The team are now 10 points in the lead on the table, therefore all can enjoy the last competition next week.

In Class 3 there was another challenging course with double clears and an individual win for Tegan Houston & Solitaire, and double clear and 5th individual for Sali Wyn-Wheway and Alffi. Leah Jones and Beatrice Blockley helped the team towards winning the team competition, and big smiles again with the Easter Eggs.

In Class 4 Brier Leahy rode a double clear winning individually, and Ellie Wilson rode a double clear and finished individual 2nd. The team which also included Ben Read and Sophie Wilson came home winning the competition, and weren’t too old for their eggs!!

Good luck to all of those who will be at the last competition on Saturday, and we look forward to the final results on the weekly next week!!
