Membership Payment

Please ensure that your Pony Club membership is up to date. You should receive an email from Pony Club HQ , reminding you when your payment is due. Please check your Junk or Spam Folders as quite a few memberships will expire in January.

New Booking System

Over the next few weeks, Flint & Denbigh will be trialling our new Event Booking System.

Events will only be added slowly just a few weeks ahead, unlike at present where all events three to four months ahead can be seen and prebooked.

Events will continue to be posted as present on the Weekly Tuesday update. Clicking on a link to a new Spring event will take you to a page that looks similar to the inserted graphic. You will be invited to create your own profile both for the parent, rider and pony. You will need the rider’s PCUK Membership number, without which you will not be able to book any event. All payments will be via Stripe.

We realise that running two systems may cause a little confusion, but we will not at this stage be adding any more events to the existing system. All new Spring program events will be on Entry Master.

Do not be concerned when directed away from https://fndponyclub.org.uk

Any issues using the new Entry Master system, please email support@fndponyclub.org.uk giving as much detail as possible. Please include your telephone number and best times to call.

Mounted Games Study Day

Saturday, 11 Feb 2023

Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre, Middlewich Rd, Tarporley CW6 0SR

Mounted Games Study Days are aimed to inform members, trainers and parents of the rules for the games to be played in that year. They are a great opportunity for everyone to see the new Area and Zone games for the forthcoming season and there is always a Pony Club Official on hand to answer any queries.

These days can be used for accreditation in Mounted Games only. Please bring your log books with you and these will be signed on the day. However, if you wish to instruct in any other sport you must attend a Coaches Course to gain full accreditation.

WL Dressage Anglesey

Flint & Denbigh members had a successful day on Sunday at the Anglesey Pony Club Winter League Dressage competition. Everyone rode really well and the ponies were all turned out beautifully. First in the arena in the Walk Trot test was Eos Newton who did a lovely test and was just out of the placings. The Grassroots class saw 3 members forward all finishing in the placings with Alex Longstaff 2nd, Poppy Miller 5th and Macsen Newton 6th. Isobel Miller took the win in the Novice class and also a 4th on her second ride. Lleucu Newton rode well but just out of the placings this time. Finally in the Intermediate class a win for Seren Griffiths riding a lovely test in her first time competing at this level. The Winter League team of Eos Newton, Alex Longstaff, Isobel Miller and Seren Griffiths took the win and Poppy Miller was in a mixed team to take 5th.

The PRA Update – note re flu vaccinations

Important note – the British Horseracing Authority have given an extension on Equine Influenza booster vaccinations to 15 January 2023. In order to be allowed to pony race the pony must have had a booster vaccination every 6 months.

This means if your pony has not had a booster for Equine Influenza in the last 6 months you MUST get one now, before 15 January. From 15 January, Equine Influenza booster vaccinations cannot exceed a 6-month interval. Those that do, will need to restart their pony’s vaccinations for Equine Influenza before they can take part in any pony racing activity.

Click here to find out more about Vaccinations Required for Pony Racing.

You can check your pony’s vaccinations before registering using the British Horseracing Authority’s Vaccine Calculator which you can access here. For further advice on vaccinations, please speak to your veterinary surgeon reminding them that Pony Racing follows the rules of the British Horseracing Authority.
