The Burton Cheshire Forest branch held their competition at Northop on the 23rd January. It was very well attended with massive 44 teams entered, 11 of which were Flint and Denbigh!!

The day started well with our 10 and under Winter League team winning for the first time this season. Great work girls as this was a very competitive class and our own Georgia Jones and Molly won the class individually, quite an achievement with 46 entries!

Class 2 saw a huge amount of eliminations but none for us which meant we were able to secure second place with Lucy Roberts and Jake having a fast second round and coming 5th individually.

In Class 3 things didn’t go quite to plan with a quite a few mistakes made again and only one team finishing on clear (sadly not ours). We came 4th beaten on time by Anglesey branch. Rhiannon Johnson and her new horse Ceri did very well with a fast double clear and I am sure they were placed but unfortunately I have nothing written down. Sorry Rhiannon!

The day ended as it started with a win for our Open Team. There were no double clears, lots of stops, and the poles flew in all directions for some reason, but it was very cold and dark and so maybe we could blame that?? Never the less our team won even with 16 faults but that was nothing compared to CHN with 32 and BCF with 36!! We also won individually with Sophie Toogood and Dylan. Brier Leahy and Tom were 3rd and Manon Owen and Imp came in 6th. So well done girls a great result over what was obviously a difficult course.
