We need to know numbers so that we can book instructors. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Winter Triathlon Championships – Stoke Mandeville on 26th March

WOW! Didn’t they do well!

Picture shows three members of Area 5 who had qualified to compete in the Winter Triathlon Championships in Stoke Mandeville. Two are from the Flint & Denbigh Branch – LEAH and ORLA.

There are 19 PC Areas in the country (including Northern Ireland) and each one put forward their best team of 4 members. Competitors were the cream of the country.

ORLA was in the Junior Area 5 team which came 3rd with a score of 9110 points—only 15 points behind the winners!  Individually, Orla was placed 13th out of 55 Junior Girls but she managed to win the medal for the fastest run of 4 min 56 secs which is simply amazing. The nearest to her was 5.03.

LEAH was placed 13th (out of 38) in the Senior Girls with a super shoot of 940 and a PB in the run. Leah was not only the youngest but also the highest placed Welsh Senior Girl. Well done Leah.

Both girls were a credit to the Flint & Denbigh and must be congratulated on their achievements. We all had a great time and it was very exciting competition.

 

Dressage update

Flint & Denbigh members had a fantastic day at the Winter League Dressage Final at Northop on 18th March with great results. Everyone rode beautifully and were a credit to Flint and Denbigh. The results from the day were as follows:

  • Walk Trot warm up – 1st Ellie Higginson 
  • Walk Trot – 1st Belle Hudson; 6th Ellie Higginson
  • Novice – 1st Isobel Miller
  • Intermediate- 1st Summer Bellis; 2nd Izzy Grice; 3rd Seren Griffiths
  • Open – 1st Amber Bellis
  • Team 1st Flint & Denbigh Winter League team
  • Team 2nd Flint & Denbigh non- Winter League team

Overall Winter League Results:

  • Walk Trot – 2nd Belle Hudson
  • Novice – 1st Isobel Miller
  • Intermediate – 1st Summer Bellis; 2nd Izzy Grice; 3rd Seren Griffiths
  • Open – 1st Amber Bellis
  • Team win for F&D 

There were fabulous prizes including whips, saddle pads, head collars, exercise rugs and rosettes sashes and beautiful trophies for the overall winners. 

Thank you for everyone in Area 5 who helped organize the events and the sponsors for providing the wonderful prizes. 

This is a great opportunity for riders of all levels to have a go at dressage and be part of the team so get practicing over the summer and hope to see more members representing Flint & Denbigh next winter.
