New Booking System

Our NEW booking system is now live and the links above will take you directly to the event page.As with the old system, events will close a very strict 3 days before the day of the event at midnight. Please BOOK IN with the organiser before you pay! Any refunds will NOT include Stripe or Booking fees!

You will need the membership number of the rider to book an event on the new system. This is checked as you go to pay. To enter the branch, you need to only enter the first two letters, ie “FL” and the lookup should fill in the rest. It will be easier to complete the form in future if you register an account.

Mold February Triathlon

Attached are the details for the Triathlon at Mold Leisure Centre on 19 February. This is the last of the Trio of Tris. The January event nearly reached the limit for online entries so if you are entering a lot of competitors don’t leave it to the last minute, just in case.

Area 5 Triathlon Qualifier

Attached are the details for our Triathlon Qualifier at Mold Leisure Centre on 12 March. Entries will be available via horse events in a day or so.

Area Horse and Pony Care Competition and Quiz

The Area Horse and Pony Care Competition and Quiz are being held on Sunday 5th March at the Clwyd Special Riding Centre in Llanfynydd. We are hoping to send teams to represent the branch. Blue Cross Area 5 Qualifier Competition for Horse and Pony Care at 9am on 5th March 2023

Teams of three Members who demonstrate their knowledge and practical horsemanship skills taken from the Pony Club Efficiency Tests over a number of rounds.

There are three levels:

  • Mini – Teams to consist of three members aged 10 years and under on the 1st January of the competition year, with one member to be 8 years or under. Questions to be based on the Care section of the E, D and easier parts of the D+ Efficiency Tests
  • Junior – Teams to consist of three members aged 13 years and under on the 1st January of the competition year, with one member to be 11 years or under. Questions to be based on the Care section of the D, D+, C and easier parts of the C+ Efficiency Tests
  • Senior – Teams to consist of three members aged 25 years and under on the 1st January of the competition year, with one member to be 16 years or under. Questions to be based on the Care section of the C+, B and AH Efficiency Tests

Teams make their way around different ‘stations’, each of which will comprise of a different theory or practical based topic. Ten minutes are spent at each ‘station’, during which time Members are asked a series of questions to be marked by the Assessor.

Dress should be appropriate to a working yard environment. Pony Club sweatshirts, shirt, tie, jodphurs, boots, gloves and hats are expected.

Points will be allocated per section, as well as the way Teams approach the competition. One round will be chosen, at random, as the tiebreaker. In the event of a tie, the Team with the highest score in that round will be declared the winners.

Area 5 Qualifier Competition for PC Quiz at 2pm on 5th March 2023

The Pony Club Quiz is a chance for members to test their equestrian knowledge in a fun and friendly team environment. Is in person and has a Mini section and a Junior/Senior section.

Centres and Branches can enter Teams in both sections at Area Qualifiers:

  • Mini Section – ages to be 10 years and under on the 1st January of competition year, with one member to be 8 years and under
  • Junior/Senior Section – must have two junior members (ages to be 13 years and under) and two of any age up to 25 years
  • The competition comprises of a Mini and Junior/Senior competition. All Teams can be made up with one member only who has also competed at another level in this year’s competition provided they are eligible. Complete Teams may not compete at more than one level.

All ages will be taken from 1st January of the competition year.

  • Mini questions to be based on the E, D and easier parts of the D+ Efficiency Tests and Mini Badges
  • Junior/Senior questions to be based on the C, C+ and B Efficiency Tests and Achievement badges
  • Questions will be based on the new syllabuses
  • Format of questions will be mixed of activity rounds such as memory games/pictionary, guess what’s in the bag, question/answer rounds
  • Teams will move around the venue. Each round will be on a different section of the quiz

Highest place Centre and Branch Teams from each section at the Area Qualifiers will be invited to the Quiz Final, which will take place on Saturday 22nd April 2023 at Moulton College, Northampton.
