……were held in Offchurch on the 3 hottest days imaginable – but great for camping and parties ! The Flint and Denbigh Qualifying members had a fantastic time socialising with other branches from Area 5 and further afield.
Leah Lamb and Orla Kissane had qualified to compete in the Junior class of 87 girls. Leah, in her last year as a Junior, came 27th. Her shoot was not her best on the day but she achieved a PB swim of 9 lengths and had full points 1400 for her XC over a very technical course. Leah was in the Area 5 team which came 4th out of 35 teams. Well done Leah.
Orla Kissane rode Henry, who was enjoying his retirement but was brought back out for the competition. Unfortunately, they missed a fence out completely on the XC. Orla should have shown him the map! Orla’s run however, was exceptional – being only 2 seconds behind the winner.
Macsen and Lleucu Newton had been selected to be in the Area 5 Stepping Stones Team. There were 34 girls and Lleucu came a creditable 9th having high scores in all 4 phases. Macsen rode well over the show jumping course and did well in the other phases but was not placed individually. Lleucu’s score was the highest of the Welsh Stepping Stone Competitors.
All had a wonderful weekend to remember – including the parents !
