Jubilee Training Day

Mounted Games Results – Area 5 Final at Glan y Wern

Flint & Denbigh hosted the Area 5 mounted games final on Sunday, and had 6 teams competing: two seniors, two pairs and two junior novice.

The senior teams had some last-minute changes which meant that one of our teams had to ride HC. The scorers kept track of the official and unofficial scores throughout, and the two teams finished quite close second and third in the unofficial scores. In the real scores, the A team of Isabelle Edghill, Mali Roberts, Helen Jones and Alaw Davies finished in second place qualifying for the Zone Finals, and the B team of Ceri Lloyd Williams, Abbie Richardson, Erin Wood and Lowri Roberts (borrowed from Berwyn & Dee) finished in fourth place.

The pairs also had some last minute changes although both were able to compete. Despite Mali Roberts having a nasty fall part way through, she carried on and she and Isabelle Edghill finished in second place qualifying for the Zone Finals. Despite Leia Lloyd Williams riding a brand new pony that hasn’t seen much mounted games before, she and Cari Jones rode very well and finished in third place.

The junior novice teams were all competing in their first mounted games competition, helped by parents and some of the older riders. They looked very smart and all rode fantastically. The A team of Catrin Morgan, Alys and Megan Evans, and Zoe and Ioan James finished in 5th place, very close the to two teams that had to run-off for 3rd place. The B team of Anni and Harri Morgan, Nansi Evans, Joseff James and Sarah-Jane Williams finished in 6th place. The ice cream van arrived just in time for them to celebrate!

A huge thank you to all the riders, parents and volunteers who helped set up and run the competition. It all went really smoothly and we couldn’t do it without you.
