Winter League Show Jumping Results

A quieter winter league hosted by Sir WWW and Waen y LLyn at Northop College.

  • We were hoping to make more teams up: unfortunately that was not the case with only the 60cm with a Winter League Team, but what a super team they have been all season. A team win and a double win for Elsie Lynch coming first on Imogen with a fantastic round. Summer Bellis came individual third and Catherine came individual sixth. So they are top of the leader board and unbeatable as it stands. Well done team – amazing results!
  • In the 70 cm class the non-Winter League team came 5th and Daisy Stone came individual 6th – well done girls.
  • In the 80cm another great placing for the non-Winter League team taking 3rd.
  • Congratulations to Isobel Miller on Frankie for qualifying with a win in the 80cm qualifier.
  • In the 90cm qualifier Amber Bellis came 3rd.

Thanks to all the riders, the drivers, the mums, dads and grandparents that make this possible. Well done everyone.

DAKS Card for The Queen

To mark The Pony Club’s involvement with Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations at Windsor, DAKS are inviting you to design a card to commemorate this special event. The cards will be included in a display at Royal Windsor Horse Show (12th – 15th May) and representatives from DAKS, our long-standing sponsors, will choose their favourites for The Queen. We welcome entries from all Pony Club Members across the world.

Please make your card A4 in size and write your name and your Branch or Centre. They can then be posted to The Pony Club, Lowlands Farm, Shrewley, Warwickshire, CV35 7AX. Alternatively, you can take a photograph and email the image to communciations@pcuk.org and we will print out the design for display.

Photographs of The Pony Club with The Queen

We would like to collect and share some of your favourite memories of Her Majesty with The Pony Club. Please send your images and any stories to communciations@pcuk.org

The Queen’s Green Canopy project

We are encouraging Pony Club Members to join in with this project to plant trees to commemorate the Platinum Jubilee. Please click here for further details of how to sign up.

Rosette Centre Jubilee logo

During 2022, Branches and Centres may wish to use the Platinum Jubilee logo for the centre of their rosettes. Please click here for the image. Here is some suggested wording for the tails:

  • Tail 1: The Pony Club
  • Tail 2: Platinum Jubilee
  • Tail 3: Celebration 2022

Whip and Spur Guidance Update

Please be aware that the whip and spur guidance has been amended for 2022.

For Show Jumping and Cross Country a padded whip must be used, full details of the type of whip can be found in the relevant sport Rulebook. In order to improve welfare of horses and ponies competing under The Pony Club, appropriate and excessive use of the whip has been defined, all members should be aware that excessive use of the whip will result in disqualification.

Spurs must only be used to enhance the normal leg aids and never to vent a competitor’s anger. Use of spurs which cause injury e.g. blood or broken skin is always classed as misuse, any misuse of spurs anywhere on a showground will result in disqualification. Further information can be found in the Rulebooks.
