Main Camp

We are setting up the arenas for camp on Thursday morning at 10am. Iona and Bethan will need 2 or 3 helpers.  If anyone can come we would be very grateful.

There will be a brief meeting for all the camp members and parents at 9.45 am on Saturday 24th July. This will take place in the marquee. Please leave your horses/ponies in your lorries/boxes.

Bethan has had a great deal of cakes and biscuits already donated and this should cover camp.

Please remember to bring:

  • Drinking water for yourself and your pony.
  • Full haynet
  • Fly repellent
  • Sun lotion
  • Waterproofs

Parents will be responsible for ponies/horses over lunchtime

The venue is a working farm with large machinery moving around. Children are not allowed to enter farm buildings and farm yard.

Families that have arranged to stay over should ensure that they respect the venue and do not disrupt the local residents.

Visiting Members – Important Reminder

8.8 All Members will be welcomed as occasional visitors at working rallies or other activities of a Branch/Centre other than their own Branch/Centre, provided that the agreement of both District Commissioners/Centre Proprietors is obtained.

A Visiting Member cannot represent the Branch/Centre that he is visiting in any Pony Club competitions.

He may not take tests (other than Achievement Badges) at that other Branch/Centre without the permission of his own District Commissioner/Centre Proprietor.

Mounted Games – Zone Finals

On Saturday, 11 of our senior mounted games riders were at Stanford Hall in Leicestershire competing at day one of Central Zones:

  • Our Senior A team – Cari Jones, Leia Lloyd-Williams, Katy Jones, Rose Jones and Ceri Lloyd-Williams
  • Our Senior B team – Mali Roberts, Erin Wood, Isabelle Edgehill, Alaw Davies and Lena Pierce
  • And our Pair Maisie Lester and Cari Jones

Both teams rode in the morning in scorching temperatures and with some fierce competition. The A team battled for first place throughout and only narrowly missed out, taking 2nd overall. The B team, most of which are riding their first season of Senior games came 7th, Both teams earned their places at Championships in August!

Our pair rode in the afternoon in straight scoring heats against 10 other pairs. After all 10 races they were level on points and won a nail biting 2 Flag run off for first place also earning their place at Championships.

What a fabulous day we all had and amazing results for all! Well done to each and every one of you. We are very proud of you all!

All the hard work and dedication from everyone concerned has paid off. Thank you to the team trainer Becky, organiser Emma, and to the parents for brining the members to the training sessions. Good luck and all the best at the Championships.
