Photo: Rosemary Clarke and Iona have organised two badges for the children during the half term: Equine Behaviour and Wildlife. Due to COVID restrictions, Rosemary, Evie, Seren, Constance and Helen studied the badges via Zoom. Rosemary has set homework for the children and they meet again on Thursday to complete the badges. Thank you for organising!
Branch Activities
As from the 9th Nov, the branch will continue to hold activities. Please could members and parents ensure that they read the Covid 19 rules and abide by them.
When attending rallies and training do not bring non-riding members or friends along.
Please be aware that organisers are volunteers and put a lot of their time into organising rallies, etc.
Please could parents ensure that members are correctly turned out for rallies and training, i.e. black/navy/beige/cream jodhpurs, red branch sweatshirt, shirt and tie or black polo shirt. Long hair must be in a hairnet or plaited. When representing our branch in competitions, tweed hacking jackets must be worn, not black or navy. Booking system and Covid-19 changes
We have modified the booking system:
Because of Covid-19 and the number of refunds being requested, tickets for events will now go on sale at 21:00, 10 days before the event. Bookings for all events will still close 2-3 days before the event! (The events will still be visible both before ticket sales open and after sales close).
Also please note the new booking clause:
Rally/Training Refund Policy – If you book and pay and then decide to cancel, a refund will only be issued if you can fill your allocated space. If the rally/training session is cancelled by the organiser a full refund will be issued. Payments cannot be transferred to other events as venues and instructors still have to be paid.
Working Rally for all
After listening to the Welsh Government Announcement today, it looks as if we will be allowed to run the rally at Ystrad on Sat 14th November. Bookings will be open online 4th-12th Nov. Please email Iona (secretary@fndponyclub.org.uk) and book in early so that she can organise instructors and let Ystrad know how long we will need the school. There will be groups for Lead Rein up to Older members working towards C+ & B. Looking forward to seeing you all again.
B&D and Tanatside Winter League – Sunday 15th November
It is with great sadness and regret that Berwyn & Dee and Tanatside committees have made the challenging decision to cancel their Winter League Competition scheduled for Sunday 15th November 2020. With Cheshire moving into Tier 3 and Shropshire’s numbers of COVID cases increasing and Tier 3 not being far away, it seems the right thing to do.
Tetrathlon Badges
Meg has rewritten the Tetrathlon Competition Badges and Area 5 will be the first to deliver the new, improved syllabus. This will be done by Zoom starting with the Introduction to Tetrathlon Badge on Monday 16th and Wednesday 25th November. And it’s FREE. See the attached schedule for how to join in:
Horsey Gifts for Christmas
If you are thinking of buying any equine gifts for Christmas, this is a reminder that Iona has a Pony Club catalogue with rugs, tack, clothing, boots, etc. for sale a good reasonable prices. The profit made on these items is put into a charity account and used to help members attend camp or put towards members travelling expenses if they need to travel a long way to represent the Flint & Denbigh Branch. Contact Iona for information (secretary@fndponyclub.org.uk).
