Older Member Rallies

Iona is wondering if any of you would be interested in older member rallies? She is quite happy to arrange rallies for you either evenings or weekends over the winter months. Could you please let Iona know either way and also when would suit you best: evenings (which evening), weekends (Sat or Sun or alternate) or only school holidays (secretary@fndponyclub.org.uk).

Tetrathlon Achievement Badges

Over the next few months the Area 5 Tetrathlon Committee are planning on using the internet to deliver training for the Tetrathlon Achievement Badges (Intro and Main) to small groups. Please look out for further information on how to book. Could you also let your DC know if you plan to take part as your branch will need to update your records when you get the badge (dc@fndponyclub.org.uk).

Arena Eventing

Cheshire Hunt South are hosting an Area 5 Spring Festival Arena Eventing Qualifier on 17th October in Kelsall Hill.  If you qualify, you will then be able to compete at the Area 5 Final which gives you the chance of qualifying for the England/Wales Championship April 9/10/11th (probably the 11th).

This is a new individual competition and runs the same way as the Spring Festival Dressage and Show Jumping (the old Dengie/Winter Series). Non Members may compete at a qualifier but should they qualify, they have to become members to go to the National Final in April. Classes are 70, 80, 90 and 100cm.  Riders may compete in two classes. 70cm competitors must be 14 and under on 1st January. Competitors may qualify two horses in the same class.

COVID: The Welsh Government has announced that children can compete out of their lockdown areas (i.e. Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire) but did not state from when this would apply, and local lockdown FAQs have not been updated to show this change. Therefore, at present, members in the lockdown counties/areas CANNOT travel outside of their area to compete. Branches not in a lockdown area may travel through but NOT STOP in the lockdown areas, to get to competitions. Please keep checking the local lockdown guidance for changes.
