Area Dressage

Congratulations to Amber Bellis who has Qualified as an Individual in the Intermediate Dressage and Twm Cernyw as an Individual in the Novice Dressage at the Pony Club Championships at Cholmondeley in August. Also Faye Jones who has qualified for the Regional Championships at Eland Lodge.

On behalf of Area 5 members/Branches – thank you for a very well run Area Dressage competition today at your farm – an ideal venue. The rain just about stayed away and I hope there was not too much mess. Your team of helpers – and Iona of course – were superb, as were the scorers behind the scenes and Penny Wingfield too. Also, thank you to all those Branches which supported the competition. Good Luck when you go to the Champs.

Registration now open for volunteering at The Pony Club Championships

There are now just six weeks to go until the 2019 Pony Club Championships at Cholmondeley Castle in Cheshire, which take place from 16th to 20th August.

In this special 90th Anniversary year for The Pony Club why not celebrate your connection to this very special charity by becoming a Volunteer for the Championships?

With such a wide variety of horses, ponies and young people represented at the Championships, this is unsurprisingly the biggest week in our calendar.

To ensure the smooth running of the event, we need between 160 and 200 voluntary positions to be filled every day, so we really need your help!

By visiting our Volunteering website, you can select the hours/days you are available, as well as indicate the types of role you would like to volunteer for. Accommodation information is also available on the page. Note that if you have previously registered interest in volunteering, you can login to your profile and fill in the details from your dashboard.

The roles include:

  • Buggy driving
  • Dressage writers and stewards
  • Dressage sheet collecting
  • Dressage scoring and scoreboard update
  • Tack checking
  • Stewarding the collecting ring
  • Fence Judges
  • Catering: preparation and serving (Food Hygiene certificates would be beneficial)

Please find this year’s Timetable available to download here.

We are very grateful to those who have already signed up, and to those who have generously offered to cover their own fuel and accommodation costs. For those who would like some support with the cost of fuel, fuel can be claimed at 25p per mile and a contribution made by The Pony Club towards accommodation if required.

As always, your help in volunteering is greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you at the Championships!
