Area Horse & Pony Care Team

The annual Horse & Pony Care competition involves members demonstrating their knowledge and practical horsemanship skills taken from The Pony Club Efficiency Test cards over a number of rounds. Each area of The Pony Club holds a qualifier with the winning team going forward to compete at The Pony Club Championships at Cholmondeley Castle in August.

The competition is split into Junior and Senior sections as follows:

  • Junior Competition – teams to consist of three members. Ages to be 13 years and under on 1.1.18, with one member to be 11 years or under on 1.1.18. Questions are based on the Horse and Pony Care section of the D to C level test cards.
  • Senior Competition – teams to consist of three members. Ages to be 14 – 25 years of age on 1.1.18. One member to be under 16 on 1.1.18. Of the remaining two members, one may be between 21 and 25 on 1.1.18. Questions are based on the Horse and Pony Care section of the C+ to AH level test cards.

This year there may also be a mini (non-qualifying) section which would be a great introduction for younger members.
