Novice & Beginners Show Jumping

Attached is the schedule for Anglesey Pony Club Novice and Beginner Team Show Jumping jumping at Bryn Derw on 4th January. A fun day with no eliminations! Individual placings will be given in each section too so that hopefully members all go home with rosettes. Those that have competed in Winter League can be in teams but only at 75cm, unless they are riding a different/novice pony.

Dressage Tests for 2018

There will be a few new Dressage tests for 2018:

  • Grassroots Dressage Test 2018 – to replace the 2016 test and used for the Dressage and Eventing Regional Championships (inc qualifiers)
  • Novice Dressage Test 2018 – to be used at summer Novice Area Dressage Competitions
  • Open Dressage Championship Test 2018 – to be used at the summer Open Dressage Championships

Please note that the older versions (Novice Dressage 2009 and Open Dressage Championship 2014) will still be used for the Dengie Winter League as per the table in the document available here.

The Eventing Committee have also decided to rename PC Open Eventing to PC110 Eventing and so the relevant dressage tests have been renamed accordingly. These will filter through as current stock of test and score sheets are used up. The content of these tests are unchanged.

All new tests are now available to download from the Dressage Tests page of the website. Score sheets will be available to purchase from the Pony Club Shop in the new year.

Applications for the 2018 Pony Club Talent Pathway Scheme are now open!

Supported by Aberyswyth University, The Pony Club Talent Pathway scheme will return in 2018 with selection days taking place across the country.

This scheme is for Members who want to develop their ability in Show Jumping, Dressage and Eventing and offers:

  • Area Training Days for riders to get tips and advice from top class coaches (candidates DO NOT have to attend a training day to progress to a selection day)
  • Regional Selection Days where participants will get training and feedback to help their future development in their chosen sport
  • National Camp where those riders chosen from the selection days work with sport-specific coaches, and benefit from both mounted and dismounted sessions

Six Members will then be selected to form the Pony Club Talent Pathway Squad 2018 benefitting from support of an experienced mentor, a training bursary plus further training opportunities.

Selection days are in April and each candidate will take part in 2 x 45 minute sessions:

  • Dressage – 2 x Dressage Sessions
