PRA / PONY CLUB TRAINING DAYS

The days are open to experienced and non-experienced Members and they will be put in appropriate groups.  The age limit for actually racing is 9-15 years on 1st January 2017. The day will start at 9.30 and there will be sessions with a jockey coach, a fitness expert and then on the pony, a session in the school followed by going up the gallops.

Members and their pony will be assessed as to their ability, confidence & competence and at the end of the day will be informed by the Assessor as to whether they have passed. If this is the case then they will be able to use this qualification to enter a Pony Club Race Day and be eligible to take part in Pony Racing Authority (PRA) races staged in 2017.

Pony Club Coaches are welcome to attend these days as part of your Coach Accreditation – please contact the Pony Club Office for details.  The cost will be £10 (payable to the Pony Club Area) and you must attend the morning and afternoon session.

Winter League Show Jumping Results – Waen y Llyn

Flint & Denbigh had a fantastic day at the Waen y Llyn winter league competition at Northop on Saturday. 

  • In Class 1A, the mixed team came 2nd, and individually Millie Davies finished 5th and Beth Howatson 6th.
  • In Class 1 the team finished 1st, and individually Hattie Godberford-Orton finished 1st, Lucia MacPherson 3rd, and Elia Davies 4th.
  • In Class 2 the Winter League team finished 4th and the mixed team finished 2nd. Individually, Scarlett Owen finished 2nd and Archie Lynch 6th.
  • In Class 3 the team finished 2nd and individually Orlagh Toner finished 2nd.
  • Finally in Class 4 the mixed team finished 2nd and individually, Ben Read finished 4th.
