Mini Camp Meeting

Liverpool International Horse Show

Llysfaen district are organizing a mini coach to Liverpool International Horse Show, on 2nd January 2017, starting from Llanrwst at 8am. Should  you wish to join on the coach, please contact Emma Williams (07769 701501).  You will need to book your own tickets to the show.

Training

B Test Care Training evening sessions, starting 10th November with Katy Powell-Jones at Hendrerwydd Farm, near Denbigh LL16 4LL. Cost £6.  Aiming towards Care Test in April 2017. Please email area5@pcuk.org or ring  07802 342561, even if you cannot attend 10th November, but would be interested in future evenings.

Lunge Training will be put on if members declare an interest to area5@pcuk.org

B+ TEST Training:

Traithlon Results – Mold, 30th October

Nine fit Flint & Denbigh members competed at the Triathlon in Mold organised by the Area 5 Tetrathlon Committee. Every one of the members came home with at least one rosette or medal. There were 15 teams competing and 10 Branches – some out of Area 5 –  a total of 62 competitors. But the Flint & Denbigh team of William Stone, Daisy Stone, Imogen Kissane and Neisha Roberts WON beating the 2nd placed team, Cheshire Hunt South, by 116 points. Meg was over the moon!

There were some outstanding performances:

  • Harriett Goodall won the Pre Mini Girls with a super top swim of nearly 5 lengths in 2 minutes
  • Orla Kissane had top run and top Bean Bag score in the Pre Mini Girls
  • In the 8/9 year old class, Imogen Kissane was 3rd, Isabella Stone 5th and Margaret Goodall 6th
  • Star of the day and with the highest score overall (3082) was Neisha Roberts who won the Mini Girls class convincingly. She had an amazing run of 1000m in 3 min 35 sec
  • William Stone was 3rd in a strong Mini Boy Class. He had an excellent swim and the top run medal
  • Ben Read was 2nd Open Boy

Well Done All: you can all be very proud of your achievements.

Fancy attending an Open Day at Aberystwyth University?

PCUK will soon be making a big announcement regarding new links with Aberystwyth University. Aberystwyth University is the oldest provider of equine university education in the UK and one of very few universities where you can take your horse with you – whatever you study! Their superb livery facilities are within a purpose built teaching unit situated in their Llanbadarn Campus where there are 20 stables available for DIY livery. Well-fenced and easily accessible paddocks are close by and the setting is a beautiful one; with mountains behind and a beach to the front. If you don’t have a horse of your own that’s no problem! There are plenty of well-schooled horses you can have lessons on, or take out for a hack to enjoy the scenery.

As well as numerous riding opportunities, the University is also home to a vibrant student community which boasts over 200 social clubs and societies – we promise you will never be bored at Aberystwyth!
