Bonnie has been a brilliant, steady pony for us proving himself as an excellent first pony, on and off lead–rein, and taking our children safely through rallies, camp, local shows and lots of hacking. Although he is 24 yrs young, he still loves being worked, and therefore, as our daughter has moved on to a more forward going pony, we are seeking a kind and caring home for him, one who will continue to allow him to take part in regular Pony Club activities and provide him with company in the field. Winter League Showjumping Anglesey – Results

Saturday 17th September was the first competition of the season: Anglesey Pony Club held their competition at Rhandir Farm, Gwalchmai. It was a long and hot day but they all rode to the best of their ability. Fifteen Flint & Denbigh Pony Club members came and supported their club which is a good start.

Leah Lamb won Class 1: clear round 45cm. Faye Jones and Poppy Dowber were awarded 3rd and 6th in Class 2: clear round 60/70cm.

Class 1 – Winter League team were Harri Wheway, Lucia MacPhearson, Ophelia Godberford-Orton and Faye Jones. They rode with great team spirit to finish second. Leah Lamb also rode a fantastic round in a mixed team. Lucia came individual second.

Class 2 – Unfortunately there was no team placing but well done to Ella Dowber and Twm Cernyw for their individual placings of 3rd and 4th.

Pairs Class – this proved to be a fun and exciting class for everyone watching and for those competing. Well done to Hattie Godberford-Orton and Lucia MacPhearson coming 2nd!!

Class 3 – Sali Wheway, Millie Dalton, Carys Roberts and Leah Jones rode with determination to win the class. Sali and Leah were placed individual 2nd and 3rd.

Dengie Qualifier – Lucy Roberts, Ella Dowber, Millie Dalton and Sali Wheway all rode really well. Well done to Lucy and Millie for qualifying.

Class 4 – Lucy was the only competitor in this class: well done on your first place!

We had new riders and we hope they enjoyed the experience and hope to see them again at the next competition at Somerford.

I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who came and supported us. We have a lovely day especially when the sun is shining. It’s about enjoying the experience with friends doing what they love to do. If your child is not quite ready for Winter League keep an eye out for the schedules on the weekly news as there might be a lower class for them to have a taste of what’s to come.
