During the February half term, five members of the Flint and Denbigh Pony Club attended a training and assessment day at Aintree Race Course, arranged by the Pony Racing Authority.
Our members were
- Dylan Griffiths,
- Constance Braunton
- Elsa Braunton and
- Rhys Cernyw and
- Twm Cernyw.
The morning session consisted of fitness, balance exercises and being taught how to ride in the jokey position. All five were deemed fit to go out onto the gallops at Aintree and thoroughly enjoyed galloping around the racecourse. All five have passed their main pony club achievement badge and have been deemed fit to compete in pony racing.
