Camp Reminders

7th JULY at CAMP FIELD: Parents with strimmers to clear area around stalls, track through the ‘Bryns’ etc.  Meet at camp field 7pm.

23rd JULY, 6.30pm at CAMP FIELD: Please could parents of children attending camp make every effort to come along to help set up for camp.

Camp T Shirts

Orders for Camp T Shirts need to be in by Friday 26th June. These are red t-shirts with the Pony Club logo on the front and all the names of members attending Mini Camp or Main Camp listed on the back, with ‘Mini Camp 2015? or ‘Main Camp 2015?. They are not compulsory for camp, but lots of members like to buy them as a reminder of their camp attendance.

If you would like to order a t-shirt please email Iona the size and which camp (Main or Mini), then pop a cheque in the post made payable to F&D Hunt Branch of the Pony Club and posted to Iona Pierce, Plas Dolben Llangynhafal. Denbigh LL16 4LN.

They are the from the same company as the red sweatshirts so the sizes should be similar.

  • 24 & 26 are £7
  • 28/30/32 are £8
  • S/M/L are £10

Area Show Jumping

Could all those wishing to take part in the Area Show Jumping competition on 18th July at Bolesworth Castle please send Chris Leahy your cheques ASAP. They need to be written out to CHSPC with the name of competitor and class written on the back. Classes 1 and 2 cost £15 each and classes 3, 4 and 5 cost £20. Area 5 Dressage Qualifier

Branch entries need to be sent ASAP. The closing date has passed (19th June) but entries are low. Please email Liz Sutton (liz@delameredairy.co.uk) regarding team entries so she has an idea of numbers.

Reminder: Area 5 Tetrathlon

The Area 5 (along with 2 other Areas) Tetrathlon on 11th/12th July at Whitfield Farm, near Warwick has classes for all Adults (Slightly Creased), Open, Int, Jun, Min, Tadpoles and Tiddlers (Under 8).  The closing date is 1st July. Schedule should be on the Area 5 website.

Polocrosse Training and Chukkas Day

Please find attached details of our upcoming Pony Club polocrosse training and chukkas day on Sunday 5th July. All PC players are welcome whatever their age / experience.

 

Cefn Update

Cefn Fun Day: Tuesday 25th August, By kind permission of the Griffiths family at Greenfield, Trefnant. Mini Tet Funday for all abilities including L/R, including swimming. Llanasa Update

Llanasa have spaces at a rally on Monday 29th June at Northop College. Contact Jude Bennett (07960 008601) to book a space.

Llanasa have cancelled the badge day on Thursday due to low numbers. It will be rescheduled for a weekend later in the year.

Sweatshirt Reminder

A reminder to all members, the Flint & Denbigh colours should be worn when competing at ALL Pony Club events and representing the Flint & Denbigh Branch. Black sweatshirts and Red hat covers are for Cross Country. Tweed Jackets and PC Ties or PC stock are for Dressage & Show Jumping. White sweatshirts for Mounted Games (Area upwards). You can wear your own colours at non-PC competitions and shows.

Oswestry Show

Please find the Schedule for this year’s Oswestry Show attached. Changes have been made to help the show flow better and to enable competitors to compete in more suitable classes without their horses having many hours between classes on the lorry. Two new working hunter classes have been added to the schedule. Entries need to be in by Thursday 25th June.

Changes / Improvements to Schedule over last 2 years:

  • New ROR (Retraining of Racehorses) Class for the main ring started in 2014
  • Unaffiliated Local Pony Class – Increased radius from 10 to 20 miles
  • The Section B Judging moved to Main Ring at 8.30am
  • M & M WHPs Judging now 9.30am Ring
  • WHP’s Judging now 11 am Ring 2
  • Racehorse to Riding Horse Class moved to 12.30pm in Main Ring
  • Ridden Veteran Class moved to 12.30pm in the Main Ring
  • Novice WH now 1.30pm New Intermediate & Open Working Hunter Classes to follow
  • The Morris Cup which was previously presented to the Champion of the Novice WH class will now be presented to the Champion from the three Working Hunter classes.
