Your Pony Club Membership Renewal was due 1st February

There are still over 100 members who have NOT renewed their membership or let Iona know that they are not re-joining.

You will not be allowed to attend any Pony Club events if you have not renewed as you will not be covered by the Insurance.

Reminder to all members hoping to take Pony Club Tests this year

For D, D+, C and C+ Tests, Members must have attained the relevant Road Rider Achievement Badge/Test. It can be disappointing when you are not able to take your test as you do not have the relevant R&R.

  • Mini Road Rider Badge for D & D+
  • Main Road Rider Badge or Road Rider Test for C
  • Road Rider Test or BHS R&R Test for C+

If any members need these Badges or Test please Book In now. Dates are on the Fixture List.

Indoor School Project

Thank you to every one who attended the meeting at Brookhouse Mill last week. The meeting went well and we are moving forward with the plans.

  • Do we have any parents who are Solicitors or Architects and would be willing to give us some advice on Lease Agreements and Planning? Please let Iona know if you could spare some of your time to help us out (garethion@hotmail.com)

Horse and Pony Care Competition

Chrissie now has a junior team for the Horse and Pony Care Competition: Maddie Isaac, Louis Evans and Izzie Welch. She only has one member so far for senior team: Zahra Bennett, and needs two more to complete the team, aged 14-25. When she has two confirmed teams, she will hold a training session. The Competition is on 25th April at Aintree. Please note this is an Area competition and qualifiers will go forward to compete at the Championship in August.

To represent your Pony Club at an Area competition is a huge honour, and it is always surprising how few of our nearly 300 members come forward for this elite competition. Stable management is the core of owning a horse; it would be great to show the rest of the Pony Club how good we are at it in Flint & Denbigh! We can put forward as many teams as we want so if you want to compete at junior or senior level, please contact Chrissie on chrissie@equest.plus.com or 07863108975 as soon as possible to get involved.

Cheshire Hunt North Arena Eventing

Please find attached a copy of the schedule for the arena eventing competition on Sunday 8th March run by CHNPC.

Winter League Show Jumping

Our next competition is the Waen Y Llyn competition at Northop on Wednesday 18th February. If anyone fancies a go, this would be a lovely one to try. Please give Aloma a ring if you are unsure (07802 342561): we really could do with more members trying, and will be looking for teams next season too.

If you would like to be considered for teams, Aloma needs cheques with the paperwork by NO LATER THAN SUNDAY, 8th FEBRUARY.

Winter League Show Jumping Results – Southview

It was a very cold but dry day at the Cheshire Hunt South Winter League Show Jumping on Sunday at Southview.

Class 1, and Leah Jones & Koda Dakota, Twm Cernyw & Tululah, Carys Ann Roberts & Travis & Orlagh Toner & Lucky Charm riding for the Flint & Denbigh Hunt. Only Orlagh managed a double clear, but the team were thrilled to be placed 1st as a team: rosettes, carrots and Toblerones all round! Orlagh also gained individual 4th for her calm and tidy double clear.

WLSJCollage

Class 2, and our team of Jac Cernyw & Gorgeous George, Lois Williams & Jim, Beatrice Blockley & Splash and Tegan Houston & Solitaire. Jac, Lois & Tegan rode steady double clears, but were not quite fast enough, so were presented with lovely 2nd rosettes, bags of carrots and Toblerones. Tegan & Solitaire also gained individual 6th.

Class 3, and thank you Hermione and Sali for stepping up a gear to make up the team. No double clears today, but our team of Georgia Jones & Simba, Hermione Williams & Spike, Harriet Williams & Flynn and Sali Wyn-Wheway & Toosie all rode well together over a few tricky fences, and were presented with team 6th.
