Unacceptable Behaviour

It has been brought to my attention that some parent’s behaviour at competitions is unacceptable.

Remember that children ride and compete for fun.
We will not tolerate offensive , insulting or abusive language or behaviour towards children, trainers or to other parents.
If any parent does not follow this code of conduct the Branch will request that the parent involved will not be allowed to attend any fixture put on by the pony club.

Please read the attached document, The Role of Parents.

Please check your Tack is safe for use. Check the stitching on your tack, especially the stirrup leathers. Make sure your girth is the correct size, not too large that it can not be made tight and safe. Check the size of your stirrup irons, are they the correct size for the boots, they should have 7mm clearance on either side. ( approx the width of your little finger).

Chris, Kathi and myself  look closely at our teams, and choose from committed members who regularly attend and support the competitions, attend training, and not just our ‘best riders’. Children and parents need to understand that we are all part of a team, therefore if anyone could volunteer any help with photos of teams and individuals to send to the website or result writing on individuals and teams, it would be appreciated. (Thank you Ceri Hughes for writing result at the last few competitions)

As we have no one writing results for all competitions, most of the results are done by memory, so please forgive me and let me know if I do leave anyone out!! Thank you to those of you who do send me results after each competition.

Gwynedd Winter League Show Jumping

Following a mix up with the results in class 1, in such wet weather with soggy sheets, it has been bought to my attention that our class 1 Winter League team of Ceri Jones, Rhys Cernyw, Ela Dowber & Beatrice  Blockley should have been placed in fourth  position.  Well done to you all, and I will make sure the points are added to the Area 5 winter League point system.

Sir WWW Winter League Show Jumping, October 26th

Well, there was a vast improvement on the weather following the last competition, which somehow makes everyone more at ease. This didn’t last too long as the super efficient members from WWW got through Class 1 nearly an hour and a half before the estimated time for Class 2. We frantically phoned members for Class 2 & 3, and thankfully, all made it in time for their classes!!

Class  1, the WL team Cocoa Pops, Ceri Jones & Charlie, Steph Parsley & Chez, Rhys Cernyw & Tululah and Emily McParland & Maisey were placed  in 4th place with Rhys Cernyw & Tululah  flying home and picking up individual 5th place.

Class 2, the WL  team  Toffee Crisps, Sali Wyn – Wheway & Wilma, Tegan Houston & Solitaire, Georgia Jones & Simba and Jac Cernyw & Gorgeous George had a lovely win.  Sali Wyn – Wheway & Wilma were also individual 2nd, with Jac Cernyw & Gorgeous George riding a lovely fast but safe clear to secure the win and individual 4th.  I must  also mention that Ben Read & Rocky had a double clear, flying around in the second round, but both  judges failed to clock a time, therefore he couldn’t be placed. Ben did receive an apology, and a large bar of chocolate, and quietly accepted the result.

Class 3 the WL team Celebrations, Heidi O’Brien & Potato, Lilly Ann Pardoe & Harry, and Ben Read & Dougal were placed in 5th. Heidi O’Brien also  took individual 3rd, and Lilly Ann Pardoe & Harry Individual 5th.

Heidi O’Brien & Miller were in a mixed team in Class 4, and with two lovely rounds, gained individual 3rd place.

Thank you once again to all the team members, especially those who sometime have to forfeit an individual placing to secure team placings and points towards the league board!!
