plasdolben-2We had wall to wall blue sky, a view to die for and lots of happy smiling faces.

Seventeen Flint and Denbigh members took part and not one came home empty handed. They were covered in medals, rosettes and horsey prizes.

The XC course on the Saturday was testing and beautifully presented as always by Iona and Gareth. They work so hard to put this event on and deserve our thanks. The coffin I think was the bogey.

The running, swimming and shooting took place on the Sunday. There was loads of team member encouragement as we had branch teams as well as an Inter District Team competition. There were visiting members from Aberconwy, Gwynedd, WaenYLlyn, WWW and Burton Cheshire Forest.

The winning Branch team was the F an D “Sisters Plus 1” – Mia, Neisha and Kirsten Roberts with Emily McParland. I don’t know what Mel feeds them on but it works! Second place went to “The Supremes” – Ceri Jones, Hermione Williams and Madeline Maher. The third placed team was “Macho Men” – Ben Read, Huw Jones and George Owen.

The InterDistrict Branch Comp was won by Llandyrnog B – Roberts girls again plus Jac Evans. Cefn Team came 3rd – Emily McParland, Madeline Maher, George Owen and Scarlett Owen.

Notable Individual achievements – Ben Read’s Shoot (900) and run, Mia’s run and Swim, Emily’s shoot (880), Jac Evans’ shoot (860) and Huw’s Run and Swim, Scarlett’s swim and Imogen’s run. Mini Girls class was very strong and was won by Mia, Emily and Ceri in that order. All 3 scored over 4000 points. Wow.

Well done all !!!

Next TRI is Mold Leisure Centre Sunday Oct 27th. Usual classes plus a “Slightly Creased” class for those not quite passed their best ! So get running & swimming. Come to me for shooting.

Thanks … Meg G
