Event Study days for Organisers

Would it be possible please to remind your Branches and centres about the forthcoming Eventing Study days please? They are super days – really informative and interesting. They cover all levels from the very grass roots to Open level and are helpful to new organisers or Branches arranging their first event, and experienced organisers of the Area Competitions.
Full dates and details are on the website, but in brief they are being held at:

  • Friday 5th April at Knighton Down, Larkhill, Amesbury, Wiltshire, SP4 8QT
  • Tuesday 16th April at Eland Lodge Equestrian, Newborough Road, Draycott in the Clay, Ashbourne, Derbyshire, DE6 5HD

Applications can be made online at //events.pcuk.org or by contacting me. Area organisers are invited free of charge but so far there has been little take up.

Full details are on the website too: //www.pcuk.org/index.php/disciplines/eventing/eventing_officials/eventing_study_days/

I hope you don’t mind me contacting you directly. I have had your contact details from Sue Harrison as I have been unable to find contact details for the area rep for Area 5 of the Pony Club. I wonder if it would be possible for you to pass on the following information to other branches in Area 5 that you think may be interested in the series of Have a Go Days that are being organised by British Dressage Wales. I have also attached a poster that advertises the series.

Have a Go at Dressage Days. Poster Attached Have a go day poster

British Dressage Wales is offering riders the chance to benefit from the expertise and advice of both listed dressage trainers and judges in a series of Have a Go days that will take place around Wales this spring and summer. These days are aimed at people already competing in unaffiliated dressage who are interested in finding out about the benefits of becoming a British Dressage member.

Each day will consist of a lesson with a listed trainer, riding a test followed by feedback from a list judge, and the opportunity to meet members and discuss the benefits of membership and how to get involved. There is also a great membership offer available to those non-members who take part.

The first Have a Go day is on 21 April 2013 at Penrhyd Dressage, Colwyn Bay. Further dates are 22 June at Pencoed College, Bridgend and 10 August at Moor Farm, Haverfordwest. The cost is £35, including everything above. For more details, or to apply, please contact Sue Harrison sue.harrison@britishdressage.co.uk 07894 232 359.
Hopefully there will be people in Area 5 interested in attending the first day at Colwyn Bay on 21 April.
