F&D AGM

Thank you to all the members and parents who attended the Branch AGM at Brookhouse last night. We had an interesting talk from “Film Horses”, Dolbadarn, Llanberis. I hope you all enjoyed the talk and film. //www.filmhorses.co.uk/pages/default.asp Thanks you … Iona

No later than 20th Feb 2013 please

It was suggested at the AGM last night that some members may like to have Bodywarmers to wear while riding at Rallies. These will only be available by order, I will not be keeping a stock of all sizes. They are Black with a small Red logo on the front, same as the logo on the front of the PC Jackets. They are from the same company as the sweatshirts, so sizing should be similar. If you would like to order one, please complete the attached order form and post with a cheque for the correct amount made payable to “F&D Hunt Branch of the PC” Age 2- 12 years ( 20″-30″ ) are £22 XS – L ( 34″ – 42″ ) are £29.50 as they have VAT on them.

Endurance in 2013

I have recently learnt that the National Pony Club Endurance Championships are likely to be held at Cholmondeley Castle in August alongside the other disciplines – which is great news in that it is relatively close and gives added incentive for F&D members to try and qualify!

In previous years qualifying was a complex and difficult process with riders having to be successful at 3 qualifying rides – all of these rides being in some cases hundreds of miles away. BUT this year the rules have changed – for the good. Riders wanting to qualify will now need to attend their area championship and attempt to qualify there. It is expected that the North West qualifier will be at Kelsall or on the Wirral in July. Dates and venues to be confirmed. You do NOT need to qualify to take part in the Area Championship.

Another rule change which should make a great practical difference is that riders under 13 still need to be accompanied by an adult rider (on Endurance GB rides) but one adult rider can be responsible for up to 4 junior riders (previously it was 2).

I hope the changes will give encouragement to some of you to “give it a go”. We have organised a number of endurance training events to help prepare members – and have a lot of fun and learn a lot along the way! The first is this Thursday, the next is at Easter (details on the latest fixture list). However, I would encourage members who are really serious about wanting to try and qualify to also try to ride at other organised rides such as the Flint & Denbigh fun rides, the ride organised being run by Sport Endurance at the RDA Centre on 31st March and the Cheshire EGB ride at Delamere on 27th April. I am trying to get both of the latter rides to run special classes for Pony Clubbers (like last year) so the mileage will count towards your official PC mileage on your PC master-card.

It would be useful to have a list of those members who might be interested in endurance training and/or trying to qualify so that I can keep them up to date with endurance news and training. If this is you please email me with your details.

If anybody has any queries with regard to Endurance please do not hesitate to contact me.

Pony Club Annual 2012

If you have any problems opening your PC ANNUAL, go to the main PC website www.pcuk.org and try from the link there.

Here at The Pony Club we’ve got some fantastic news – The Pony Club Annual 2012 is available NOW!

Not only that, but this year brings a brand new format for The Annual, as it has been produced entirely online. We’re really excited, because not only does it make The Annual really accessible, it also allows us to include loads of great interactive features; including lots of handy training information, photos and stories from what you’ve all been up to throughout the year, and so much more! There are also two versions of The Annual, one with content for younger Members and one with content for older Members and Associates.

We have selected the older Members and Associates version of The Annual for you, and all you need to do to access your copy of The 2012 Annual is CLICK HERE. If you would like to view the version designed for younger Members you will be able to do this after following the link.

If any of your Members have not received a copy of The Annual, this could be for a number of reasons such as there not being an up-to-date email address for them on the database or their email address containing typographical errors. However there will be a link on the page allowing them to register with their email address.

In the event that one of your Members is unable to view The Annual, you can use the Referral link on the Annual home page which should resolve any issues.
If your web browser is having problems displaying The Annual, we’ve put together a short guide – you can view it here. Please direct any technical support queries to marty@pcuk.org and if you’ve got any feedback about The Annual we’d love to hear your thoughts – let us know at media@pcuk.org

We hope you enjoy reading The Pony Club Annual 2012 as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it!
