We (Keele University Students Union) are having a Salsa Party to celebrate the life of Catrin Pickles and to help raise money for Therapies Unite, a volunteer organisation working with disabled children and adults based in Mexico.

Therapies Unite were lucky enough to have Catrin as one of their first volunteers in 2011 when she completed a physiotherapy based project in Puerto Vallarta. Catrin was an incredible volunteer, cared passionately about her work in Mexico and of course spent many nights salsa dancing until the early hours.

We…would love to have as many people as possible attend this event to celebrate Catrin’s life and love of salsa, to dance and remember and to raise money for a cause that was close to her heart.

We will be having a variety of lessons during the night, from beginners to improver level and have secured two amazing teachers for the night, Abu who will give us a flavour of Cuban Salsa and Reggaeton as well Edwin Rodriguez Ovalle, of Latin Brothers Dance Company, all the way from Mexico. We will also be having salsa performances, a live band and a raffle.

The event will be held at Keele University in the wonderful ballroom with a sprung dance floor and bar until 12.00am.

There is free parking just over the road from the Student’s Union.

Tickets will cost £5 on the door.

More details to follow soon!
