As we had not been to Gwysaney Hall before, so Sian and I decided to travel in convoy, limiting our chances of getting lost, however we still managed to miss a turning and ended up taking the scenic route. As we drove up the long sweeping drive towards the hall…. there was a definite WOW factor, with newly built XC fences dotted about the estate and the fabulous house at the end of the drive, we thought we had arrived in eventers heaven.

We Quickly unloaded and tacked up, Ffion and Puzzle headed off to join Gwil for some mounted games practice and Scarlett and Timmy joined the Leadrein group in the arena for some polo cross fun. Half way through the morning the groups swopped activities and the mini’s with their short and hairies join Gwil for some top tips in perfecting their swerve and drop technique.

After a fun filled morning it was picnic time before the mounted hack around Gwysaney Estate. Ffion & Puzzle opted for the fast and furious route which was lead by Sarah, with Charlotte bringing up the rear. The four mini’s set off with Sophie on a fantastic tootle around the estates tracks and fields, the kids loved exploring and riding though the woods looking out for Unicorns, Fairies and Gruffalos. When we returned back to our trailers we quickly untacked and loaded our ponies and headed on foot to catch the rest of the field jumping back into the park over a set of timber rails and a fallen tree. All the children and their ponies thoroughly look like they had enjoyed themselves, and Sarah and Charlotte didn’t look too stressed either!

Sarah and her family made everyone feel extremely welcome throughout the day, it was an absolute pleasure to have the opportunity to ride and walk in such a beautiful and well managed estate, we came away feeling very privileged.

Thank you ……….. Looking forward to the next PC Fun Day at Gwysaney Hall…..….and the fab home made cakes …. Laura
