Volunteers needed to sell race cards at the Flint & Denbigh Hunt Point to Point on Sunday 22nd May 2011 at Bangor on Dee Racecourse.

CONGRATULATIONS

At the Dengie Championships held at Moreton Morrel this last week end, Georgina Clarke was 2nd in the Dressage to Music and 4th in the Open class.
Elin Charlton finished 9th in the Open class and Ollie Williams was 8th in the Novice Class.

Well done to all three members. It is quite an achievement to qualify for the champs and fantastic that they were all placed at this national competition.

POLOCROSSE WED 20th APRIL

I must apologise for the slow set up of this event but I have been waiting for confirmation that the field was dry enough. If you have any queries do contact me but we would like to encourage any interested members to come and have go and for those who have played to come and improve their skills. jeanette@gwerydlakes.co.uk

I have now secured the field for next Wednesday 20th April for a Field Practice open to all pony club members. I would like to have numbers and playing experience for us to plan coaching. Numbers will be limited to how many we can coach but should manage up to 20 in total.

  • The price is to be £8 per person subject to numbers.
  • Please ensure that you bring over reach boots if you have them, boots, bandages and are dressed in pony club sweaters etc.
  • Bring water and hay with you there is no water on site.
  • It is essential that no muck or hay is left on the field after use if pens are erected or ponies are tied up to lorries/trailers.
  • Time  3.00pm till 5.30pm

Plan is – Pony Club Introductions and tack check

  • Training exercises, Picking up, throwing, tackling, riding off, 10m throws, Line outs and area work according to ability. Some work on neck reining and riding skills.
  • Break for tea and rest.
  • Fun Chukkas
  • Pony Club Finish at 5.30  (option to go to beach if tides suit)

Helpers to have something to eat maybe we can all bring something to share?

  • Tack up for practice.
  • Celyn practice to start at 6 or 6.30
  • Training followed by chukkas till 8.00

Celyn members please also confirm if you are coming – price likely to be our normal training charge.

TESTS

Important. Please Read for all members wanting to take tests this year .

  • The Road Rider Mini Achievement Badge is a prerequisite before taking the D Test.
  • Before being awarded the ‘C’ Test Certificate, Candidates must have trained for and passed The Pony Club’s Road Rider Achievement Badge or The Pony Club Road Rider Test or the BHS Riding and Road Safety Test.
  • Before taking the ‘B’ Test, Candidates must have passed the ‘C+’ Test and The Pony Club Road Rider Test or the BHS Riding & Road Safety Test.
  • Before taking the Lungeing Test, Candidates must have passed the B Test or B Standard Horse & Pony Care.
  • It is necessary to pass the Lungeing Test before attempting the AH Test.

Please note that ride and road safety is compulsory now before you do tests so do not leave it until the last moment.

Wynnstay Hunt Supporters Club Show.

The Club are organising a show to be held on Saturday 7th May, I would be grateful if you could advertise this for us on your Pony Club web site. We have show jumping for juniors and seniors, equitation, handy pony, gymkhana, lead rein/mini jumping etc
