Tests …. Important …. Please Read for all members wanting to take tests this year

The Road Rider Mini Achievement Badge is a prerequisite before taking the D Test.

Before being awarded the ‘C’ Test Certificate, Candidates must have trained for and passed The Pony Club’s Road Rider Achievement Badge or The Pony Club Road Rider Test or the BHS Riding and Road Safety Test.

Before taking the ‘B’ Test, Candidates must have passed the ‘C+’ Test and The Pony Club Road Rider Test or the BHS Riding & Road Safety Test.

Before taking the Lungeing Test, Candidates must have passed the B Test or B Standard Horse & Pony Care.

It is necessary to pass the Lungeing Test before attempting the AH Test.

Please note that ride and road safety is compulsory now before you do tests so do not leave it until the last moment. Contact chrissie@equest.plus.com .

AREA 5 HORSE & PONY CARE COMPETITION

On Saturday 2nd April 2011

Start time 10.00 (Juniors) 12.30 approx (Seniors)

At Limes Farm, Deans Lane, Barthomley, Cheshire, CW2 5QJ

Areas covered – subject and level depends on age and test passed –

Bandaging, Bits and Bitting, Breeds, Colours and Markings, Conformation, First Aid (Human), First Aid, (Equine), Feeding, Fitness, Foot and Shoeing, Grooming, Health, Pasture, Saddlery, Rugs and Rugging, Stabling, Road Safety, Pony at Grass, Travelling, Hunting.

Teams:-

  • Senior team must comprise of 3 members who must be between 14 and 20 years on 1st January 2011 with at least one member 16 years and under at that date.
  • Junior team must comprise of 3 members who must be 13 years and under on 1st January 2011 with at least one member 11 years and under at that date.

This is very good practice for people considering doing tests this year as well as being an area competition.

For the teams I will put on a practice on March 26 Saturday – details to follow.  Teams will be picked by 22 March in order to get entries off in time.

Hunting Certificate

Congratulations to Louise Jones, Sam Major, Edward Sturla, Rebecca Whittingham and Phoebe Woodbine on passing their hunting certificate.  It was great to see you all out hunting so often.  Keep up the good work whilst out hunting next season.

Names asap to Lucy Reed or Louise Shepherd  for next seasons entry.  Your name must be down before Main Camp and you must be 14 years old by 1st September 2011 to take part.

To all F and D members this week end at the Welsh Games Trials at Builth Wells. You all did brilliantly, a special congratulations to Suzi Williams for getting into the Welsh Team for the second time and Anya Dreiling for being chosen as a Reserve. Congratulations also to Georgina Clarke who qualified for the Winter League Championships at the Dressage.
