RDP Flatwork Training

There is a Rider Development Pathway (RDP) Winter Training Flatwork Day at Ash Tree Farm near Northwich on 28th March. Debbie Jones has kindly agreed to coach, and she is looking forward to passing on her knowledge to Pony Club Members! Debbie is a very well renowned coach: she holds the BHSII and is a List 1 judge, as well as being an accredited BD (British Dressage) coach. Debbie competes up to Grand Prix level and also trains British Dressage judges, so she really does know exactly what the judge is looking for!

This training is open to any Pony Club Member who is working at Pony Club Novice level or above; riders do not have to meet the RDP criteria to attend the Winter Training days. It will be great if you’re looking to get ahead in preparation for the Area Qualifier in the summer, or if you’re just starting the eventing season. Or perhaps you’ve been selected for one of the RDP Assessment days at Warwickshire College or Myerscough on Tuesday 7th April and you’d like to get some extra hints and tips?!

The cost is £30 per rider for 40 minute sessions, in pairs. There are sessions available between 11am and 3pm. You can join online: http://events.pcuk.org/?page_id=1712

From PCUK: The Great Dengie Cake Off

To commemorate twenty years of The Pony Club Dengie Winter League, we are inviting Members to design a recipe for a healthy but tasty celebration cake for their favourite horse or pony.

All entrants need to do is think of a delicious recipe which horses would love, and tell us which ingredients are in it, including one or more Dengie products, and how to make it. We would also like to see a picture of what their finished cake would look like – this can be drawn by hand, electronically or as a photograph.

The judges will be looking for appetising, creative cakes which will appeal to equines and contain lots of nutritious ingredients. Up for grabs will be £50 worth of Joules vouchers for the winner courtesy of Dengie, as well as the chance to have their cake replicated and used as part of The 20th Anniversary Dengie Winter League Championships.

How do I enter?

Entrants can email their entry to prizes@pcuk.org and will need to include:

  • A list of ingredients, including one or more Dengie products, and the method used to make their cake
  • Their name, age, address, email address (or parent’s email address), daytime contact number (or parent’s daytime contact number) and the name of their Pony Club Branch or Centre
  • A drawing or design of their finished cake

Terms and conditions

  1. Only one entry per person
  2. Open to current Pony Club (Branch and Centre) Members only
  3. Entries must include a name, age, address, email address (or parent’s email address), daytime contact number (or parent’s daytime contact number) and the name of their Pony Club Branch or Centre
  4. No cash alternative is available

The closing date for entries is midnight on March 29th
