Flint and Denbigh Fly the flag at the Area 5 Triathlon held in Alsager January 26th. There were 13 teams competing and our Flint and Denbigh members ran, swam and shot their socks off!
The Flint and Denbigh “Flint” team came first with a score of 7984 (Ben Reid, Orlagh Toner, Mia and Neisha Roberts) followed closely by the “Denbigh” Team (Madeline Maher, Eloise Blackshaw, Hermione Williams and Leah Lamb) which came 2nd with a score of 7417. BRILLIANT. The 3rd team was from CHS with a score of 7374 so we won by a mile !
Of the 15 Flint and Denbigh members who competed, only two came home empty handed. There were some outstanding performances and it was all very exciting.
Ben Reid won the Junior boys and had top shoot and run Medals. Madeline Maher won the Junior Girls and had the run Medal, Eloise (4th) and shot 920 (and couldn’t shoot straight 6 months ago!) and had the top shoot Medal, Neisha won her class gaining all three Medals and Mia was 2nd with the top run Medal— what does Mel feed them on ? Hermione was 4th. In the Tadpole Boys – Jacob Edgehill doing his first Tri came 2nd, and in the Tadpole Girls – Imogen Kissane was 2nd, Lili Young 4th with the best swim Medal and Margaret Goodall 6th. They all had a great time.
Next triathlon is in Neston on March 2nd and is a qualifier for the Tri Championships held in Milton Keynes March 16th.
