RIDER DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY

The Pony Club is rolling out a new scheme this spring supported by the Sport England funded BEF Excel Talent Programme, to help develop its Members that show the ability to progress in their sport. The initiative will help to provide a stepping stone for young riders working towards the talent pathways of the Olympic disciplines, the British Equestrian Federation’s Sport England funded Excel Talent Programme and the UK Sport Funded World Class Programme. Together these initiatives form an athlete development pathway set out for equestrian sport towards the creation of future Olympians.

Nine regional assessment and training days will be held across the country during the Easter holiday, open to all Pony Club Members aged 12 to 18 years who meet the specified criteria in dressage, SJ or Eventing.

Further information about the Rider Development Pathway, including criteria and application process, can be found at www.pcuk.org/training/riderdevelopmentpathway or by contacting Jenny Yates: jenny@pcuk.org or 02476698305

Applications are now open online at http://events.pcuk.org until Monday 10th March. Please read the Application Information carefully before applying.

Riders should apply directly to attend, their Branch DC or Centre Proprietor will then be contacted to verify that the rider is a current, active Member and the details supplied are accurate.
