BHS RIDING AND ROAD SAFETY TEST

Dear Jenny,

I wonder if there are any members in Area 5 who wish to do their BHS R&RS soon. I had been running a test here at Daywell but had to cancel due to having to go in for an operation.

The test was rescheduled for Saturday 26th of May and now we have had 3 cancelled due to injury or social commitments.

The training dates are Friday 18th (evening) theory, Saturday 19th (morning) and Friday evening 25th and Saturday 26th for last minute polishing with the test to follow.

If possible candidates are 16 or over all they have to pay is £20 to cover the training and test, however it is open to anyone over the age of 12 but if under 16 years of age they will be asked to pay £36 for the test but tuition is free. If anyone feels its too far to travel I can do free B&B on the 2 Friday nights!

Please could you send this out with my telephone number to anyone who might be interested. 01691 661250.

Thank you … Mary Evans

PONY WANTED FOR LOAN OR BUY

From: JENNIFER PRITCHARD jpritchard490@btinternet.com

My son Anthony is a teacher specialising in young adults with special needs. He works for Mencap in Pengwern College, Rhuddlan and runs the Park Farm there, which has a number of animals. The facilities are excellent and the animals well looked after. They have a pony there, it is very old but ideally suited to the job. It had a companion of a similar age which sadly had to be put down some months ago. Anthony is looking for a replacement companion. The pony would have a home for life and be responsibly cared for. The pony would never be ridden, but must be really quiet and of an excellent temperment for the students to handle and take for walks. He would prefer a pony with no current major management problems but the staff are quite capable of managing any problems that might occur in the future under vetinary supervision. It doesn’t necessaily have to be an old pony as long as it is quiet.

If you know of such a pony for sale or loan, please e-mail me in the first instance or ‘phone 01745 540329. Thank you.

BETWS RIDE SUNDAY 20th MAY
