Flint & Denbigh members success in Pony Club and Tetrathalon categories at WPCS performance awards

At the Welsh Pony and Cob Society awards ceremony in Cheltenham in December, Ceri Wynn-Jones and Sophie Williams collected awards (based on points accumulated over 2011 with their WPCS registered ponies) in a number of categories, including Best Pony Club pony – Ceri took 1st place with her Welsh Part-bred, “Toplines Flash Dancer”, and Sophie was 3rd with her section B, “Elvet Lonestar”. Ceri and Sophie were also 4th and 2nd respectively in the Tetrathalon category.

The WPCS run the performance awards each year and for the Pony Club section, points are awarded and collected throughout the year for attending rallies, camp and any competitions. Bonus points are awarded for team selection. There are also separate awards for each discipline including dressage, show jumping, endurance, one-day events and tetrathalon. Bonus points are added for ponies that compete in a number of disciplines in order to reward and encourage versatility and real all-rounders. Points can be accumulated between 25th Feb and 30th Sept 2012.
