Last night I had very sad news. Tragically Catrin Pickles was in a fatal road accident.

Catrin was a loyal and talented member of our Branch for over 10 years. She always had a smile on her face and was ready to help out.

Catrin started her pony club career attending rallies and camps. She was on the games team with her pony Cappuccino. She progressed onto her horse Patsy, and this proved to be a very successful partnership. Representing the Branch at the Open Horse Trials, Mounted Games, SJ, Tetrathlon and Dressage. Her success also continued into British Eventing where she gained many top 10 placings at novice level. Catrin also enjoyed associates camp at Somerford where she joined in and was a popular and fun member.

Even after going off to Keele University Catrin would always return to help out at camp and competitions. Her welcoming smile in the kitchen at Cefn will be greatly missed. Her talents also spread into baking, providing all the instructors with her delicious home made chocolate cake. Catrin was a kind, caring, fun and talented person who we all liked to call our friend. She lived her life to the full and made the most of every opportunity. Our deepest sympathy goes to her family and this very sad time.
