We arrived on the field at about 9.30pm and by the time we set up camp, had supper and settled down it was quite a late night.

Saturday morning session didn’t go too well with several cringing mothers, even so they picked up plenty of points.  Saturday afternoon session was a cracker and they beat Atherstone A who had led the point table from the first session, they all rode very well.  This left us in a secure position overnight almost certainly ensuring our place in Sundays afternoons A final.

Sunday was going to be zone games!  That would be a test for our girls!! We were also disappointed that WWW weren’t going to stay for the Sunday as we had avoided racing them in Saturday’s heats.  Sunday morning also went well for the girls who swept the board even after a unfortunate elimination from a race they won.

They found themselves in lane 2 in the A final, I think this was more a reflexion on the luck of the heats draw as they had avoided CHN, and North Warwickshire in any of their heats.  In the final they did let nerves get the better of them but they did have 1 first -in the big sack, 2 x 2 nd’s in the bending and also the 5 flag and 1 third, I cant remember in what.

They finished 5th out of 13 which was our expectation, and to just obtain a few more top 3 placings will be our aim.

Well done girls, and good luck to Suzi this week in Windsor, we shall all be thinking of you!
