Cheshire Hunt South at Southview 6th February 2011

Despite some ‘confusion’ over the F&D teams  and despite losing quite a few of our show jumpers to mounted games we were victorious on Saturday winning 3 of the 4 classes.  It could not have happened at a better competition under the circumstances. (I will say no more!)

Back to business.  Class 1 had 10 teams in all and our Winter League team finished on zero faults but were unfortunately beaten on time by CHS and came in second but one of our non league teams with only 3 members did extremely well and came in 3rd!  Individually Eleri RJ on Chez was 2nd and Emily Cummings and Sonic were 4th.  Fab result girls.

In Class 2, unfortunately one of our ponies was not well on the day and retired after the first round but despite this, the 3 girls left pulled out all the stops and finished in a very fast time all on double clear which was enough to give them first place in a large class of 15 teams!!    Georgia  on Smartie came in 5th.    Well done girls.

There were 11 teams in Class 3 and due to a mix up by CHS our team rode last, thus giving us a slight advantage in the second round,  Shannon and Hollie rode 2 fantastic fast rounds and so when Wednesday went in last we knew we only needed a clear round from her to win the class, so, under instruction, she rode a lovely, careful clear round!  Thank you Wenz!!  Hollie and Ernie came second individually and Shannon and Billy were 3rd.  What a great result.

Class 5, “The Open”, didn’t start until 7pm!!  A little later than the (approx)  4.30pm time given!!  But it was worth the wait as we won again with Lucy and Zac coming in 2nd with a fab double clear and Manon and Imp 3rd.  Well done girls as Gill had built a pretty good course with plenty of places to make mistakes!!

Girls please say a big thank you to your parents for taking you and spending such a long time at Southview.  Thank goodness it has a nice warm cafe to view the show jumping from!!

Many thanks … Chris
