C+ TRAINING

C + training covering riding theory was arranged for Monday 7 February but did not go ahead due to lack of numbers.  Before I rearrange this could you let me know whether it was because you were not interested in attending or whether it was just because it was on old sheet and you all forgot!  I am happy to rearrange if there is demand so please email me at chrissie@equest.plus.com – let me know if any evenings are particularly tricky and I will do my best to accommodate all.

Thank you … Chrissie

As the volunteer County Access and Bridleways Officer for the British Horse Society in Denbighshire I am trying to put together information about our local bridleways and I have devised a very short survey. To help all bridleway users in Denbighshire I would be very grateful if you would take a few minutes to complete the survey. It can be found at //www.clwydrangerider.co.uk  and I thank you in advance, as do all bridleways users!

Introduction to Endurance – Sunday 13th February 2011

Ever wondered what the discipline of endurance (otherwise known as long distance riding) is all about?

This training event is to explain the basic rules and tips, the types of ride (they start at 5 miles), the minimum and maximum speeds you need to ride at, how to accumulate Pony Club points and awards, qualifying for the Pony Club endurance championships, where you can find out more etc.

After getting to grip with the basics we will then do a mock “vetting” taking the ponies heart rates and doing a trot up – then tack up and head off for a training ride of about 5-6 miles.

We will then take the ponies heart rates again and trot them to check they are sound (just like you would at an endurance ride of 20 miles plus). There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

Please contact Kate Williams to book in/find out more on 01745 890655 or 07812 576854 or llewesog@btinternet.com.

Postcode for venue is LL16 4RY (not far from Ystrad/Denbigh).

Thanks … Kate

Show Jumping Rules

Dear All,

I think there has been some misinterpretation of one of the Winter League Rules regarding the riding of two ponies. If a member wishes to ride two ponies  at the same competition the Winter League team class must be ridden before the non Winter League class otherwise it gives the rider an unfair advantage.

I know the season is nearly over but there is one competition left!

Stocks

Forgive me for sending you this email but I cannot help doing some self-help advertising.

Several years ago under pressure from the family I was persuaded to get a computer and told not to just use it for Solitaire but to do something useful like emails etc ………..

Now I seem to have branched out and launched a website for my STOCK  business  www.bespokestocks.com

I would be so grateful if you would forward the above site to anyone who may be interested either to order or just for fun . I’m afraid it is rather horsey although some shooting people have bought them to keep warm this winter.

Tanatside Branch

Badminton Horse Trials

Would any one be interested in a coach trip to Badminton on Sunday 24th April?

Tickets would be £19.55 plus the coach charge. Children 12 years & under are free. Only coach to pay for. I think the coach would be approx £5 if we had enough names.

Please let me know asap. Iona  garethion@hotmail.com

Rule Book 2011

If any of you would like a Rule Book for ANY of the disciplines could you please let me know before 20th February 2011 as I will be sending an order to HQ. They are £3 each. If you are hoping to compete at SJ, Dressage, Eventing, Tetrathlon, Mounted Games or Polocrosse it is advisable to have the Rule Book to familiarize yourself with the PC Rules.
